Do Animals Suicide?

Have you ever wondered whether or not animals suicide? I mean, can animals really understand their existence and intentionally put an end to their life?

Well, as it turns out even though some animals seem to kill themselves, it is not suicide. Humans are the only animals known to intentionally take their own lives.

Even though there are cases that animals are intentionally killed, this does not necessarily mean that they actually know the implications of their actions. According to scientists, the reason why humans suicide while other animals don’t, is believed to be our ability of thinking ahead into the future, create scenarios and our thinking of a world without us being present. No other known animal is able of conducting so complicated thoughts, hence the scientist’s assumption that no other animals kills themselves.
