In March 2015, a British Airways scheduled flight from Heathrow to Dubai had to turn around and land after 30 minutes of flight, because a passenger did a toilet crime. Someone went to the toilet and did a poop so bad that essentially rendered a $400 million Boeing 747 useless.
The incident happened on March 12th 2015. Abhishek Sachdevm, a councillor who was on board the aircraft, told Daily Mail that around 30 minutes into the flight, a quite strong smell was coming from the toilets. The smell was so pungent, that the pilot requested for senior cabin crew at the cockpit. Ten minutes later he made an announcement:
“You may have noticed there’s a quite pungent smell coming from one of the toilets. The smell is caused by liquid faecal excrement. There is no problem with the aircraft but for safety reasons, we need to return back at the Heathrow airport.” (the article continues after the ad)
And yes, the airplane did return back at the airport:
Insane! Our BA flight to Dubai returned back to Heathrow because of a smelly poo in the toilet! 15hrs until next flight… #britishairways

As it turns out cabin crew weren’t able to prevent the pungent odour emanating from the overflowing toilet so the pilot decided to turn the aircraft back.
