Churchill’s Insane Plan To Start ‘World War 3’ Right After ‘World War 2’

It’s no secret that the West and the Soviet Union hated each other despite being allies during the great war. Yet most people are not aware that right after World War 2 ended in 1945, an allied country was already preparing World War 3.

Britain. The World War 3 plan came from none other than Winston Churchill and it was called Operation Unthinkable.

On May 8, 1945, as people were still celebrating the end of World War II, the British Prime Minister asked his War Cabinet to start working on a plan to invade the Soviet Union. The idea was for a joint British-American attack with the help of the defeated German army! You see, Churchill’s satisfaction of defeating Nazis was soon overshadowed by Russian victories in Eastern Europe. He was upset at the amount of countries the Soviets gained influence and hoped that the Americans would help them drive out the Soviet forces from Germany, Poland and Eastern Europe. (the article continues after the ad)

After careful planning though, the War Cabinet decided that the plan was suicidal and that Soviet Union was much stronger that they initially thought. And that is why the plan was quickly ignored by reasonable leaders and thus WWIII was prevented.

Unbelievable indeed.
