Our daily job here at I’m A Useless Info Junkie is to get you the most fascinating, fact-checked useless information you can find on the web. But sometimes we stumble upon some facts that just sound fake but when we fact-check, they turn out to be completely true.

Here we’ve gathered 7 of our most recent “what in the world” discoveries for your reading pleasure:

6. There are more trees on Earth, than stars in the Milky way

Scientific journal Nature estimated that there are about 3.04 trillion trees on earth. NASA, on the other hand, estimates the number of stars in our galaxy to be between 100 and 400 billion. (the article continues after the ad)

5. A Banyan tree in India is bigger than the average Walmart

This 250-year-old Great Banyan tree which is located near Kolkata, India is roughly 156,000 square feet (14,400 square meters):

The average Walmart is 105,000 square feet (9,750 square meters):

4. Bangladesh has more people than Russia

To better understand how weird this is, here’s a map showing Russian and Bangladesh:

But still, in 2015 Russia had a population of 144.1 million while Bangladesh had 161 million.

3. Wooly mammoths where still alive when the Great Pyramid of Giza was being built

I know this sound completely wrong but it’s a true. According to scientists, the last mammoth died around 1650 B.C.. The Great Pyramid of Giza was built from 2550 to 2490 B.C.:

2. Harvard University was founded before calculus was discovered

Yes, the oldest higher education institution in the U.S. was actually established 50 years before calculus was discovered by Gottfried Leibniz:

1. North Korea and Finland are separated by just one country

The only thing that lies between Finland and North Korea (distance of 4,152mi – 6,681Km) is mother Russia. Here’s the proof:
