A volunteer group in Taiwan found a clever way to raise awareness of the fact that disabled people have sexual desires just as everyone else. NGO Hand Angels (website) offers a rather unique service: hand relief for the severely disabled people!
The group consists of 10 people of varied backgrounds; from journalists to PhD students and social campaigners. When a request is made, Hand Angels assess the level of disability and, if approved, take the disabled person to a motel where they offer their service with latex gloves. It’s important here to state that only handjob is allowed, anything penetrative (including oral) is forbidden!
The organization was founded by Vincent, a 52-year-old who lost his legs to polio. As he emphasized in an interview to VICE “disabled people share the same physical and emotional needs as any others, and therefore should have the right to pursue them.” (the article continues after the ad)
The group was formed in 2013 and it still continues its operations up until today.
Bonus fact: In the Netherlands, the national health system pays with public money so people with disabilities receive sexual services up to 12 times a year.
