When a Hollywood film is in production, the last shot of the day is called the “Martini Shot” and that is because it signifies the end of the shootings and the beginning of drinking.
In Canada and Europe, the very same shot is called a “Window Shot” with the actual meaning going back to the early days of filmmaking when everyone on the crew was daily paid in cash. After the last shot, they all went to the window to get their payment.
