This Is The Difference Between ‘Ocean’ And ‘Sea’

A lot of people use the terms ‘ocean’ and ‘sea’ interchangeably but there is actually a difference between the two termd.

An ocean is a large expanse of salt water that is bounded by the continents, or the equator or other imaginary lines. There are five (5) oceans: the Arctic, Atlantic, Indian, Pacific and Southern.

Even though the North Sea is part of the Atlantic ocean, it is called a sea because it’s where the ocean meets the land at the coasts of the UK, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
