The Hidden Bodies Of The Famous Easter Island Heads (PICTURES)

Last time we talked about the Easter island, we’ve shed light on How The Polynesian ‘Easter Island’ Got Its Name And Its Weird Statues. Well, as it turns out, these 887 Moai statues have more hidden secrets that are cool enough to earn them another article on our website.

In an effort to better study and preserve these marvellous artifacts, a UCLA team of archaeologists developed the “Easter Island Statue Project“. Through this project, the team excavated since 2014 several of the heads, only to reveal that they also have an underlying torso and body!
