This Is How Japanese Companies Force Their Employees To Quit And Avoid Paying Full Benefits

Companies around the world can be very creative in finding ways to avoid paying full compensation for laid off employees. But, after reading this, i think you’ll agree with me that Japanese companies are hands-down the most ingenious ones in forcing people to quit.

Here’s why.

Some companies in Japan including Sony, Toshiba and Panasonic use the so-called ‘banishment rooms’ to force employees to quit their jobs. Banishment rooms are basically departments where they transfer surplus employees and give them useless tasks or even nothing to do until they become disheartened or depressed enough to quit on their own, thus avoiding paying them full benefits. Reports say that these tasks include staring a TV for full 8 hours looking for “program footage irregularities” or simply watching at camera surveillance footage. Companies of course, will not admit this but will rather give creative titles such as “Human Resource Development Center” or “Career Development Team”.
