If you had to guess, which animal would you say is the deadliest to humans? Sharks? Lions? Tigers? Perhaps crocodiles?
Well, even though all of these are definitely dangerous and are responsible for the death of hundreds of humans, nothing gets even close to the deadliest creatures this planet has ever seen: the mosquitoes.
According to data released by the World Health Organization, the most annoying animal out there is also the most deadly, as mosquitoes kill a whopping of 725,000 humans annually! Humans are the second most dangerous threat for… humans killing 475,000 people while snakes are ranking third killing 50,000 a year. (the article continues after the ad)
It’s important to note that some of the most traditionally considered scary animals, such as sharks and lions, only kill 10 and 100 human respectively.
Take a look at the graph:
Mosquitoes deadliest disease is malaria which kills more than 600,000 people every year and threatens half of the world’s population.
