This Is Why Muhammad Ali Has Never Turned Down An Autograph Request In His Entire Life

He was not only one the greatest athletes of all time, he was also one of the greatest men of all time. As a legendary boxer and activist, Muhammad Ali’s life is full of fascinating facts and interesting stories. One of them, is his autograph policy.

Muhammad Ali has never, ever turned down an autograph to a fan and, as it turns out, there’s a pretty good reason for it.

As a young boy, Muhammad Ali (Cassius Clay) asked his idol, the famous boxer Sugar Ray Robinson for an autograph. Robinson rejected his request by replying “I don’t have time boy.” Young Cassius never forgot how hurt he was by this rejection and when he became a prized fighter himself, he vowed to never deny an autograph request. (the article continues after the ad)

This vow was honored throughout his entire life and he even had a special P.O. box for anyone who wanted his autograph! The address was:

“P.O. Box 187
Berrien Springs, MI 59103
USA”

What a great man!
